March 26, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI - The Milwaukee Admirals have an exciting two-game stretch this weekend, kicking-off on Friday, March 28 at 7 pm versus the Lake Erie Monsters and finishing up on Sunday, March 30 at 5 pm against the Grand Rapids Griffins.
The Admirals will honor goalie Magnus Hellberg on Friday with a bobblehead giveaway to the first 5,000 fans, courtesy of Lee Jeans. Hellberg was named AHL Goalie of the Month for the month of February last year and was a driving force in the Admirals 11th straight playoff appearance. Hellberg is currently down in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones regaining his conditioning after suffering an injury that caused him to miss the last two months with the Admirals.
Admirals athletic trainer Doug Agnew will also be recognized at Friday's game for his 2,000th game as team trainer and his 25th season with the team overall. Agnew has been the Athletic Trainer for the Admirals since 1989 and has helped hundreds of Admirals reach the National Hockey League, including current NHL stars such as Shea Weber, Ryan Suter, and Pekka Rinne.
On Sunday, the Admirals will host their sixth straight Battle of the Badges hockey game beginning at 12:30 pm. A portion of the tickets sold to watch local law enforcement take on local firefighters goes to the Easter Seals and the organization's fight against autism.
Sunday is also a Purina Dog Day, allowing fans to bring their furry friends to the Admirals game following the Battle of the Badges. The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha (HAWS) will be in attendance with adoptable pets and more information to begin the process of adopting.
Dogs can get into the game for just $2 (Humans are $19) and $1 from all dog tickets sold will be donated to HAWS.
Following Sunday's game, the Admirals host their annual "Cut for a Cause." The Ads will make a $50 donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation for any fan willing to have their head shaved on the ice after the game.
Fans can order tickets for Friday's game by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or by logging on to the Admirals website at www.milwaukeeadmirals.com.Groups of ten or more receive a minimum of $2 off each ticket. For more information or to order group tickets fans should call (414) 227-0550.
