
P-Bruins Fall to Monarchs 2-0

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Manchester Monarchs 2-0 Friday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The 54-17-3-4 Regular Season Eastern Conference Champion P-Bruins are back in action Saturday against the Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless Arena at 7:05 p.m.
The Monarchs took a 1-0 lead at the 12:43 mark of the opening period. Marc-Andre Cliché tallied his eleventh goal of the season, while John Zeiler and Jeff Likens recorded the assists. Manchester went into the first intermission leading 1-0.
Manchester took a 2-0 advantage at the 9:39 mark of the second period. Zeiler netted his sixth goal of the season with Richard Petiot picking up the lone assist. The Monarchs led 2-0 after two periods.
After a scoreless third period, the Monarchs went on to the 2-0 victory.
Tuukka Rask stopped 18 of 20 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jonathan Quick made 26 saves for the Monarchs. The P-Bruins went 0-for-5 on the power play and 8-for-8 on the penalty kill.
The Regular Season Eastern Conference Champion P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center for a Family Game Sunday versus the Lowell Devils at 4:05 p.m. Receive one ticket, hot dog and soda starting as low as $16.
