Stars Spoil Flames Home Finale With Overtime Win

MOLINE, IL --- Marty Sertich scored two goals for the second consecutive game including the game winner a minute-54 into overtime as the Iowa Stars defeated the Quad City Flames 5-4 Friday night in Moline, IL. The Stars continue the final weekend of the regular season at Peoria tomorrow night at 7pm.

The Stars jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Tyler Shelast, his first pro goal, and Chris Conner in the first four minutes of the game. The Flames would come back to tie the score three times before the overtime, at two, three and four.

Tommy Wandell scored the other goal for the Stars while Dan Jancevski picked up a pair of assists.

Goalie Matt Climie earned his first pro win on 31 saves to improve his season record to 1-3-1.

Following tomorrow night's game in Peoria, the Stars wrap up the season Sunday at 4:05 at Rockford.
