Rochester Americans vs. Syracuse Crunch

Game Notes: Tonight, the Rochester Americans host the Syracuse Crunch at The Blue Cross Arena in a North Division matchup. The 7:35 p.m. contest can be heard live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. The contest will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet Channel 26.

Military Night: Tonight's game falls on Military Night. The Amerks will be wearing special camouflage jerseys tonight in honor of the United States Military. As part of the partnership with the New York State Hockey Players Support Our Troops Campaign, the Amerks will also be sporting yellow patches on their right shoulders. The Hockey Patch Campaign raises funds to support NY military families who have suffered the loss of a loved one while that relative was serving in the armed forces of the United States of America. Nearly 200 New York families have suffered such a loss. Throughout the game, fans can participate in a silent auction for the limited jerseys. All proceeds from the auction go to Foodlink.

Promotions: Tonight's game falls on the last installment of the Amerks' Friday Night Frenzies. Fans can enjoy live music from Johnny Bauer in the main lobby of The Blue Cross Arena up until gametime. It's also College Night. Students can present their college ID at the Box Office and receive a $16.00 ticket for $10.00 or a $12.00 for just $8.00. The game is also an Amerk AAA Discount Night. Anyone who is a AAA member can show their membership card to the Blue Cross Arena Box Office and receive 100 End Seating for $10.00 each (Regular $16.00) or 200 End Seating for $10.00 each (Regular $12.00). Lastly, its Wendy's Night. Buy One, get one free ticket vouchers are available at any participating Wendy's Restaurants.

Head-to-Head: Rochester is 2-8-1 this season and 78-65-16 all-time against the Columbus Blue Jackets' affiliate. Tonight's contest marks the 12th and final meeting between the I-90 two rivalries for the 2008 season. Syracuse defeated the Amerks to 10-3 loss in their previous meeting last Sunday night at The Blue Cross Arena.

Amerks Notes: Rochester (26-44-6-4, 56 points) enters the game after giving up a 4-1 lead and seven straight goals in an eventual 8-4 loss to defending Calder Cup champion Hamilton Bulldogs at Copps Coliseum. Mark Mancari remains the top point-getter for the Amerks with 54 points (19+35). Mancari has also been the iron man on the team, skating in all 77 games thus far for the Amerks. First-year man Marc-Andre Gragnani is currently ranked second on the team and third among top rookie scorers in the AHL with 51 points (14+37). His 37 helpers are also a team best. Leading the team in goals is Stefan Meyer with 21, followed closely by Dylan Hunter with 20 goals on the season.

Crunch Notes: The Crunch (43-26-2-6, 94 points) currently hold the third place spot in the North Division and are one of three teams within the division to clinch a playoff spot. Syracuse is 17-0-0-3 in its last 20 games, and more impressively, 10-0-0-0 in its last 10. The team point leader Joakim Lidstrom (24+32=56 points) returned to the Crunch lineup this week along with Zenon Konopka, Adam Pineault, Clay Wilson and Derek MacKenzie after playing with the Blue jackets. All five players rank in the top five for the Crunch in points.

Next Game: Rochester will continue its final weekend of the season on Saturday, April 12th as the Amerks head to Toronto to face the Marlies in a 4:00 p.m. matinee contest at Ricoh Coliseum. The afternoon matchup can be heard live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. Rochester returns home on Sunday, April 13th to close out the regular season against the Lake Erie Monsters. Sunday is Amerks Awards Night. Fans present at Sunday's game will witness the Amerks honoring their top performers of the year. After the game, fans are invited to the Nathaniel's Postgame Party.
