
P-Bruins Defeat Sharks 3-2

Worcester, MA - The Providence Bruins defeated the Worcester Sharks 3-2 Saturday evening. Alexander Khokhlachev scored and Nick Johnson had two goals, while Malcolm Subban made 28 saves in the victory. Providence remains undefeated against the Sharks this season (6-0).
The Sharks grabbed the early lead, while on the power play at the 6:45 mark of the opening period. Dan DaSilva got the puck past Subban for his eighth goal of the season to make it 1-0. Konrad Abeltshauser and Sena Acolatse recorded the assists. Worcester took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
In the second period, the P-Bruins controlled the pace early on and it paid off at the 4:19 mark when Ben Youds shot the puck at Sharks net minder Harri Sateri who made the initial save, but Johnson was there to knock in the rebound for his 15 th goal of the season and tie the game at one. Craig Cunningham got the secondary assist. Providence took its first lead of the game at the 15:21 mark, while on the power play. Johnson redirected a shot from Youds for his second goal of the game and 16 th goal of the season. David Warsofsky grabbed the second assist as the P-Bruins took a 2-1 lead into the second intermission.
Providence got into some penalty trouble early in the third period, allowing Worcester to tie the game at two. At the 2:04 mark, while on the power play, Acolatse tallied his fourth goal of the season with DaSilva and Abeltshauser getting the assists. The P-Bruins continued to battle and it paid off when a turnover behind the Sharks net was picked up by Anthony Camara and he passed it to Khokhlachev in front, who beat Sateri at the 9:08 mark for his ninth goal of the season. Bobby Robins had the second assists as Providence held on for the 3-2 victory.
Subban stopped 28 of 30 shots for the P-Bruins, while Sateri made 24 saves for the Sharks. The P-Bruins went 1-for-2 on the power play and 0-for-2 on the penalty kill.
