Falcons Cody Goloubef Recalled by Blue Jackets

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced Saturday that defenseman Cody Goloubef was recalled by the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team's NHL affiliate.

Goloubef, was selected to the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic roster January 9, has posted 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) and a +9 rating with Springfield this season. The Oakville, Ontario native leads all AHL defensemen with three shootout goals and two shootout game-winners. His +9 rating ranks second on the team.

The 6-foot, 195-pound defenseman has played 12 NHL games in his career, all with Columbus. Goloubef played 11 games with the Blue Jackets in 2012-13, accruing one goal and a -3 rating. The University of Wisconsin product played one game with Columbus during the 2011-12 campaign.

In 177 career AHL games, all of which were played with the Falcons, Goloubef has totaled 62 points (17 goals, 45 assists).

Goloubef was a second-round (37th overall) draft selection of the Blue Jackets in 2008.

The Falcons are back in action at the MassMutual Center Saturday, January 25 to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The team hosts the Portland Pirates Sunday, January 26 at 3:00 p.m.
