St. John's IceCaps News Release

Kael Mouillierat collected a hat trick and added an assist as the St. John's IceCaps crushed the Hartford Wolf Pack 6-2 for their third straight win, Saturday night at the XL Center in Hartford.

Jason Jaffray added a goal and two assists for St. John's, while Brenden Kichton had two helpers.

The IceCaps were quick to open the scoring, only 1:09 into the contest, as Jaffray fired home a feed from Mouillierat in the slot. Kris Fredheim picked up the other assist. Adam Lowry made it 2-0 IceCaps at 12:46 of the first when he was parked to the left of Hartford netminder David LeNeveu and went top shelf. Kyle MacKinnon and Kichton were awarded assists.

Mouillierat broke open the contest with his first of the game at 6:05 of the second stanza as he picked the pocket of a Hartford defenceman and streaked in on a short-handed breakaway before going under the bar unassisted. Just 53 seconds later Mouillierat collected his second on a give-and-go with Patrice Cormier. Jaffray had the other assist.

The Wolf Pack cut the lead in half on a pair of Jesper Fast powerplay goals at 17:36 of the second and 38 seconds into the third. But Jerome Samson of the IceCaps put the game out of reach on the powerplay at 2:24 of the third with a wrist shot from the face-off circle to the left of LeNeveu. Kichton and Will O'Neill collected assists. Mouillierat finished off his hat trick at 6:02 as Jaffray turned a Hartford blueliner inside out and dished to Mouillierat who made no mistake.
