Providence Bruins News Release

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, entering their 19th season in the American Hockey League, will open the 2010-11 season at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center this Friday, October 8 against the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 p.m.

Opening night festivities will begin prior to the game with a P-Bruins highlight video, which will be followed by an introduction of each player on the 2010-11 roster.

The 2010-11 season is also the 75th anniversary of the AHL and, since Providence is a founding city of the league, there will be an on-ice ceremony prior to faceoff with representatives from the AHL, Providence Bruins, Rhode Island Reds, Springfield Falcons and Springfield Indians. In addition, Providence and Springfield players will all don Reds and Indians jerseys for the first two games of the regular season, a home-and-home set that concludes at the MassMutual Center on Saturday, October 9. The Calder Cup will also be on-hand at The Dunk for pictures with fans from 6 p.m. until the end of the second intermission.

The P-Bruins will unveil their special Reds jerseys and announce details for a jersey auction in a separate announcement on Tuesday, October 5.

P-Bruins season tickets and Flex Tix packages are on sale now for the 2010-11 season. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the P-Bruins ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or log on to the team website at www.providencebruins.com.
