Hershey Bears News Release

HERSHEY - The 2010 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the American Hockey League that the club will wear a special jersey honoring the 75th anniversary of the league for two games this month. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

The jersey features the word "HERSHEY" in block letters across the front in a slight arc, and the American Hockey League's 75 anniversary patch on the shoulders. It will be worn first this Sunday, October 10 when the BEARS travel to Rochester to play the Americans, and again on Saturday, October 16 when the Amerks visit Giant Center for HERSHEY'S home opener. Rochester will be wearing a commemorative jersey as well for the games, as the two most senior teams in the circuit battle one another to open the new season.

The Chocolate and White will try to become just the second team in AHL history to win three straight Calder Cup titles, officially kicking off its title defense this Saturday night at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at 7:05 p.m. The new BEARS Radio Network kicks off Saturday night, with the pregame show starting a full half-hour before game time at 6:35 p.m.
