Admirals Present "The Hunt for Pink October"
October 4, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI-Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that for the fourth consecutive season the team will present the "Hunt for Pink October," where they will help promote cancer awareness at all of the team's games during October.
The Admirals will wear special pink jerseys during the month and those jerseys will be auction off via a silent auction with the proceeds going to Lee National Denim Day. Since 1996, Lee National Denim Day(r) has raised nearly $80 million for the fight against breast cancer, $5 at a time. Money raised supports the Woman's Cancer Programs of Entertainment Industry Foundation and Cancer Support Communities. Click here to donate to the Admirals team or start your own!
The silent auction, which will be located in the West Atrium, begins when the doors open for the new season this Saturday night at 6:00 pm and it will run at each game during the month, ending with five minutes to go in the second intermission on Saturday, October 23. The winning bidders will have the opportunity to meet the player whose jersey they won.
In addition to the pink jerseys, at their game on October 15 the Admirals will be selling pink pucks that are autographed by an Admirals player, and 30 of the pucks will be signed Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman, who serves as the Lee National Denim Day celebrity spokesperson. The pucks are $10 each and can be purchased at the DigiCopy Information Table, located outside section 225.
Also on the 15th, the first 5,000 fans will receive a set of pink cheer-stix, courtesy of Lee Jeans, and there will be a pair of ten foot pink ribbons emblazoned on the Bradley Center Ice during the month as well.
