Flyers Assign 7 to Phantoms

Adirondack Phantoms News Release


The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they are assigning the following players to the Adirondack Phantoms, according to General Manager Paul Holmgren: goaltender Johan Backlund, defensemen Marc-Andre Bourdon and Erik Gustafsson and forwards David Laliberte, Jon Kalinski, Mike Testwuide, and Ben Holmstrom.

The Flyers also released forward Bill Guerin from his professional tryout.

The player moves follow the Flyers' conclusion of their eight game preseason schedule Sunday night. Philadelphia opens the regular season Thursday night at the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Phantoms Opening Night roster is expected to be finalized within the next couple of days. Adirondack opens the regular season on the road Friday, October 8th at the Binghamton Senators and then will be the visitors for Albany's home opener on Saturday, October 9th.

Adirondack's first home games of the 2010-11 regular season, presented by Bud Light, will be Friday, October 15th and Saturday, October 16th. The Opening Night game is presented by Potvin & Potvin Family Dentistry and Nemer Ford and the first 5000 fans will receive Phantoms magnet schedules courtesy of Potvin & Potvin Family Dentistry.
