Otters Go for Series Win on Budweiser Military Appreciation Night

(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - The Evansville Otters (27-18) continue a three-game mid-week series with a series finale against the Traverse City Beach Bums (19-28) on Thursday night.

First pitch is set for 6:35 pm CDT at historic Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana.

It is Budweiser Military Appreciation night. A scholarship will be awarded to a student of a military member and there will be postgame fireworks extravaganza sponsored by Working Distributors. It is also Budweiser Thirsty Thursday with 16 ounce drafts for $2 and 32 ounce drafts for $4. Fans can also enjoy 25 ounce beer cans for only $4, something not available on any other Otters game night

Fans wishing to purchase tickets for the game can call the Otters box office at 812-435-8686. Reserve seats are $9 and general admission tickets are $6.

Fans not going to the game can listen live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski and color commentator Bill McKeon will have the call beginning at 6:15 pm CDT.

Today's pitching matchup will feature Evansville right-hander Preston Olson (3-3, 2.92 ERA) and Traverse City RHP Casey Delgado (5-2, 2.36 ERA).

The Otters are 20-33 all time against the Beach Bums. Evansville is 3-2 against Traverse City this season, winning the series at Wuerfel Park June 18-19 and splitting a doubleheader on Wednesday at Bosse Field.

Evansville LHP Chad James threw the team's first no-hitter in the 20-year history of the Otters. It took 1,723 games before James' no-no in the 1724th game in franchise history.

Outfielder J.R. Higley is on a nine game hitting streak. Outfielder Chris Elder has hit safely in five straight games. Catcher Kolin Conner and outfielder John Schultz have hits in four consecutive games as well.

The Otters are 15-9 at home this season and seeking their seventh home series win of the summer.
