Evansville Otters News Release


LOOK BACK AT LAST GAME: The Otters erupted for a 9-2 win at Lake Erie last night. Outfielder John Schultz had four hits in the game as pitcher Bryce Morrow al- lowed one run over 8.0 innings. Nick Schwaner gave Evansville a first inning lead with a solo home run and Evansville added to the lead with three more in the second in- ning. The Otters tacked on a run in the third for a commanding 5-0 lead. Morrow and the Otters defense con- tinued to dazzle as Evansville kept Lake Erie scoreless. Evansville built on to the lead with a four run eighth inning. Lake Erie added a run in the eighth and ninth before Evansville won the game by seven runs.

ROAD WARRIORS: The Evansville Otters are 5-2 this season on the road, winning both previous road series at Schaumburg and at Traverse City. The Otters are hitting .273 on the road and averaging 5.1 runs per game. The team also has a 3.31 road ERA.

WHAT'S AT STAKE? Evansville is looking to maintain the Frontier League's best over- all record (15-6) as well as win their straight road series. The Otters have won six straight series after losing the opening series against the Normal CornBelters (15-7).

FUN FACTS: After starting the season 2-2, Evansville has won 13 of their last 16 games. Evans- ville leads the League in batting average (.286) and earned run average (2.91). Evansville is 12-1 when they score first and 13-0 when leading after 5 innings . Teams also don't want to play Evansville after a rain out as the Otters are 7-1 in doubleheaders this season.
