Olympic Gold Medalist Stephanie Brown Trafton, Coats for Kids Drive Coming Sunday

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder is scheduled to host United States Olympic gold medalist Stephanie Brown Trafton and conduct its annual gCoats For Kidsh drive, presented by News10, KB Home and KAT Country 103 on Sunday, Nov. 16 when the Thunder take on the Bakersfield Condors at 4:00 p.m. at Stockton Arena.

Trafton, a native of Galt, Calif. is scheduled to participate in the gamefs ceremonial pregame puck drop. Trafton finished third in the 2008 Olympic Trials and delivered an outstanding effort when it mattered most in Beijing, China to get the United States a gold medal in the discus competition. She delivered with a throw of 64.74 m/212-5 (less than five feet off her personal best), was the first U.S. womenfs gold medalist in the discus competition since 1932, when Lillian Copeland won gold in Los Angeles.

The gCoats For Kidsh drive is the fourth annual event the Thunder is participating in, helping KXTV-TV News10fs 18th year of giving coats to kids this holiday season. Any fan that donates a coat will receive free admission to the game against Bakersfield on Nov. 16th at 4:00 pm. Fans are encouraged to bring coats beginning at noon on Sunday to the Stockton Arenafs North Entrance.

Throughout the past 17 years, the local San Joaquin community has come together to donate more than 400,000 coats in the Central Valley region, including over 40,000 last year alone. The Thunder was able to collect nearly 800 coats during their 2007 drive and hope to increase that number during this yearfs event. Fans who are unable to donate a coat the day of the game are asked to donate at any of the following locations from Nov. 1 - Dec. 19:
