TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The Round Rock Express are the Triple-A affiliate of Houston Astros. The have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 2005. Express was the Double-A affiliate for Houston 2000-2004. Last year, Round Rock finished first in the American South with a record of 85-59.

TODAY'S GAME:

Game 19 of the season, and final game of four-game road trip, and game four of 16 vs. Round Rock.

LAST GAME:

RedHawks are guaranteed of their second series victory after a 3-2 win Monday night at Round Rock. Mike Wood allowed two runs in six innings for his first win of the season. Miguel Ojeda hit a solo go-ahead homer in the seventh to break a 2-2 tie. Wes Litttleton pitched a perfect ninth for his first save of the season.

VS. ROUND ROCK:

The Express won the season series last year 10-6, and lead the overall series 20-15. RedHawk hitters hit .248 with 11 homers vs. Express pitching last year. 'Hawk pitchers had a 4.22 ERA vs. the Express.

PITCHING MATCHUP:

Alfredo Simon gets the call for the RedHawks. Simon lost his last start Thursday against Nashville. Simon allowed three runs over seven innings, he walked two and had five strikeouts. Philip Barzilla goes to mound for Round Rock.

CLOSING OUT:

The RedHawks are looking for their first win in the finale of a series. They come into today 0-4 in the last game of a series this season.

DIAZ KEEPS HITTING: Victor Diaz

continued to hit Round Rock pitching yesterday. He finished the game 2-for-3 and is 5-for-11 with seven RBIs in three games against the Express this season.

BYRD DOWN:

RedHawk OF Marlon Byrd had his hit streak stopped at six games. Byrd was held hitless (0-2) with two walks yesterday. He comes into today's game hitting eighth in the PCL with a .358 avg.

GETTING ON BASE:

CF Freddy Guzman has reached base in 15 consecutive games by hit or walk. Guzman went 1-for-5 with a run scored yesterday. He is 4-for-11 with five runs scored in three games against Round Rock this season.

SHUTTIN' 'EM DOWN:

For the season, the bullpen has pitched 53.1 innings and allowed only five runs with 57 strikeouts. 'Hawk relievers have a combined ERA of 0.84 on the season.

BACK QUALITY STARTS:

Wood and John Koronka have given the RedHawks back-to-back quality starts. The starters are now 5-7 combined with a 4.75 ERA. The starters have been bothered by the big inning this season, giving up three or more runs in an inning nine times this season.

'HAWKS VS. PCL:

RedHawk pitchers lead the PCL in fewest hits allowed with 120. Nashville is second with 134 hits allowed. 'Hawk hitters are tied with Tucson at the bottom of the PCL with only six combined home runs. The RedHawks 63 runs scored are the fewest runs in the PCL.

: Drew Meyer is riding a six-game hitting streak into today's game ... David Matranga has a five-game hit streak going ... Ramon Vazquez is 4-for-10 in this series ... 'Hawks went 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position yesterday, and are hitting .194 (31-160) on the season with RISP ... The RedHawks won their first game this season when being outhit by their opponent (1-6). RedHawks are 4-0 when their opponent scores two runs.
