Fresno Grizzlies News Release

Police Chief Jerry Dyer is proud to announce a special honor for a young Valley girl who calmly guide Fresno Police to her brother after the pair were involved in a serious motorcycle accident.

12 year-old Brittney Myers and her brother 23-year-old Chase Workman were traveling from Visalia to Fresno on March 16, 2007 when they were involved in a serious motorcycle accident that left Workman paralyzed from the waist down. Myers called 9-1-1 and spoke with Fresno Police Dispatcher Brenda Manteiga, who with the assistance of Skywatch pilots Jack Jones and Jaye Lamb, rescued Myers and Workman after more than a half hour search in total darkness.

Brittney Myers and Chase Workman, along with Skywatch pilots Jones and Lamb and dispatcher Manteiga will all be part of a special pre-game ceremony at Chukchansi Stadium on Tuesday, April 24, 2007.

At precisely 6:42 P.M. tomorrow night, Skywatch pilots Jones and Lamb will fly the helicopter into Chukchansi Stadium where they will see Myers and Workman for the first time since the accident. Myers and Workman will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Grizzlies take on the Tucson Sidewinders.
