April 24, 2007 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Oklahoma City Comets News Release
Miguel Ojeda's seventh-inning, leadoff homer snapped a 2-2 tie and put the RedHawks in front for good in 3-2 win over the Round Rock Express Monday at The Dell Diamond.
Ojeda's team-leading second homer landed just over the top of the wall in left center on an 0-1 pitch from reliever Jose Rodriguez (0-1), who took the loss.
RedHawks starter Mike Wood (1-0) worked six innings for the win, allowing seven hits and two runs. After A.J. Murray tossed two scoreless innings, Wes Littleton retired the side in order for his first save.
The RedHawks have won three straight and improved to 9-9 on the season and 5-5 on the road. The Express have lost five straight and dropped to 9-10.
Oklahoma scored a run in the first off starter Juan Gutierrez on a single by Freddy Guzman, a double by Victor Diaz and a ground out by Jason Botts. The RedHawks scored again in the fourth when Desi Relaford raced around from second base on an infield hit by Tug Hulett.
Round Rock tied the score with a pair of fifth-inning runs and out-hit Oklahoma 8-7, but the Express went just 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position.
Oklahoma will try for its first series sweep of the season Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. CDT. Righthander Alfredo Simon will oppose a Round Rock pitcher to be announced.
