New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The visiting New Orleans Zephyrs scored a season high 17 runs and defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes 17-8 on Tuesday at Isotopes Park. Ricky Ledee had four hits in five at bats and drove in seven runs including a grand slam home run. Andy Tracy went five for six at the plate, scored four times including his two run home run. Ruben Gotay added four hits and drove in a total of seven runs in the series. The Zephyrs bashed 23 hits setting a new franchise record for most hits in a game. The game was tied at six through five innings when the Zephyrs scored six in the sixth and added four more in the seventh. Chan Ho Park wins is third game of the season and Roy Corcoran takes the loss for the Isotopes. Albuquerque used seven pitchers during the afternoon. Starter Ricardo Rodriguez was ejected for intentionally throwing at Ricky Ledee third inning, following the Tracy home run. The Z's and Isotopes split the four game series.
Game Notes: The seven runs batted in by Ricky Ledee is the most by a Zephyr since Jason Lane in 2002. The grand slam is the second of the season for the Zephyrs. The five hits for Andy Tracy is the most for a Zephyr since Mike Vento last May 5th. Lastings Milledge missed the game with a bruised right foot and flew to New York to visit the team doctor to be evaluated. Outfielder Carlos Gomez reached base for the 20th consecutive game.
Coming Up: The first place Zephyrs (12-8) are off on Wednesday and will enjoy the teams first day off of the season. New Orleans will begin a four game set at Oklahoma on Thursday night.
