Oklahoma City Blue Selects Six Players in NBA D-League Draft

OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 1, 2014 - The Oklahoma City Blue acquired six players in the 2014 NBA Development League Draft on Saturday, including NBA-veteran guard Marquis Teague with the ninth overall pick.

Teague (6-2, 180, Kentucky) holds NBA career averages of 2.3 points, 1.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 9.5 minutes in 88 games (three starts) with the Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets. A 2012 NCAA national champion at Kentucky, Teague averaged 10.0 points and 4.8 assists in 32.6 minutes in his lone collegiate season. In 2013-14, Teague played in eight NBA D-League contests while on assignment with the Iowa Energy, averaging 12.0 points, 4.8 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 24.0 minutes.

Additionally, Oklahoma City selected guard-forward George Beamon (42nd pick), forward Dane Miller (45th pick), forward Jonathan Mitchell (63rd pick), guard Michael Porrini (81st pick) and center Amadou Mbodji (99th pick).

Beamon (6-4, 175, Manhattan) averaged 15.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.4 blocks and 28.4 minutes in 120 career games (95 starts) at Manhattan. Beamon was named to the All-MAAC first team in 2013-14 after leading the Jaspers to a MAAC championship while averaging 18.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 30.9 minutes in 30 games (30 starts).

Miller (6-7, 225, Rutgers) posted career averages of 8.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.3 blocks in 127 games (98 starts) with the Scarlet Knights. Miller spent the 2013-14 season with the Rochester Razorsharks of the Premier Basketball League where he averaged 8.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 17 games.

Mitchell (6-7, 245, Rutgers), a collegiate teammate of Miller, has spent the past three seasons playing internationally. While at Rutgers, Mitchell averaged 14.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 30.3 minutes in 32 games (32 starts) during his senior season (2010-11).

Porrini (6-2, 190, Kent State) averaged 9.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 30.9 minutes in 69 games during his junior and senior years and was named the 2011 MAC Defensive Player of the Year. Porrini spent the past two seasons playing internationally in Turkey and Greece.

Mbodji (6-10, 230, Jacksonville State), born in Senegal, played four games in the NBA D-League with the Utah Flash in 2010-11, averaging 5.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.
