Canton Charge Select Six Players in 2014 NBA D-League Draft

The 2014 NBA Development League Draft is complete, with the Canton Charge selecting six players with various college and professional experience. The Charge conducted their selections from their training facility at Edgewood Community Center in Canton during a live draft party with Charge Nation Members in attendance. The six players selected will go towards filling the 16-man training camp roster.
With their 1st round selection (12th overall), the Charge took forward/center Michael Dunigan (6'10", 245) from Oregon. Dunigan played two seasons at Oregon (2008-10) before heading overseas to pursue a professional career. During his sophomore season with the Ducks, Dunigan played in 28 games and averaged 9.0 points on .554 shooting with 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 20.3 minutes per game. Dunigan spent the 2013-14 season in Korea playing for the Seoul Samsung Thunder and Wonju Dongbu Promy after a stint with the Miami Heat's Summer League team.
With their 2nd round choice (29th overall), Canton chose forward Tristan Spurlock (6'8", 230) out of the University of Central Florida. In his senior season for the Knights, Spurlock played in 31 games (28 starts) and averaged 11.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 28.5 minutes per game.
With their 4th round pick (67th overall), the Charge selected forward Tymell Murphy (6'5", 210) out of Florida International. As a sophomore for the Golden Panthers, Murphy averaged 16.6 points on .586 shooting with 7.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 34.4 minutes per game.

The Canton Charge are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League and the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League, both of which play their games at Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland.
