CLEVELAND - Ryan Hamilton scored the game-winning goal, breaking a 2-2 tie in the third period, and Jordan Oesterle tallied two assists as the Oklahoma City Barons won their sixth consecutive game, defeating the Lake Erie Monsters 3-2 Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena.

Hamilton's goal came at 5:47 of the third period when, on a 2-on-2 rush, Andrew Miller sent a pass through the low slot to Hamilton who slapped the puck past Lake Erie goalie Calvin Pickard from the left side of the Monsters crease to give the Barons their decisive third goal.

Oklahoma City goaltender Laurent Brossoit won his sixth consecutive start and improved his record to 12-4 on the season. Brossoit is also 12-1 in his last 13 decisions after starting the season with a record of 0-3.

With the win, Gerry Fleming improved his head coaching record to 7-1 since taking over duties on Dec. 16.

After a scoreless first period, twin brothers Connor and Kellen Jones collaborated to give the Barons a 1-0 lead at 8:11 of the second period. Oesterle began the play when he shuffled a pass to the Monsters blue line, where Kellen Jones received it and raced toward the right side of the net before centering a pass to Connor Jones who chipped the puck past Pickard. The goal was the second the brothers have combined on this season, with the first having occurred less than a week ago on Dec. 27.

The Monsters tied the game at 13:06 of the second when Joey Hishon took a pass from Troy Bourke and sent a steep-angle shot from the left corner of the Barons zone that glanced off Brossoit's skate and into the back of the Oklahoma City net.

At 14:06 of the second period, the Barons regained the lead when Oesterle found Joshua Winquist open in the Lake Erie slot, and Winquist sent a wrist shot that sailed over the glove of Pickard for a 3-2 Oklahoma City advantage.

Early in the third period, Lake Erie once again tied the game when Hishon sent a pass to Trevor Cheek, who received the puck behind two Barons defenders and flipped a one-on-one shot past Brossoit at 2:17 of the frame.

Hamilton's goal was his team-leading 14th of the season.

The teams meet again Saturday, Jan. 3 in a 6 p.m. CST start at Quicken Loans Arena.
