Cianfrini Released from PTO by Penguins

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today announced that defenseman Paul Cianfrini has been released from his professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Cianfrini joined Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for the second time this season after signing a PTO on Dec. 26, 2014. The 25-year-old made his American Hockey League and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton debut on Dec. 20 at Binghamton and has played in three total games with the Penguins. He has also collected one goal, two assists and two penalty minutes in 17 games this season for the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).

Cianfrini, a third-year pro, has appeared in 155 ECHL contests with Toledo, Trenton and Wheeling, totaling 32 points (3G-29A) and 73 penalty minutes.

The first Eyewitness News Fan Friday will take place on Friday, Jan. 2 when Wilkes-Barre/Scranton faces the Binghamton Senators. Fans have a chance to purchase lower-bowl end zone seats for just $14 and the first 2,500 in attendance will receive a 2014-15 Pittsburgh Penguins Yearbook.
