
Oilers Shut out Mallards 2-0

MOLINE, Ill. (March 4, 2015) - Kevin Carr made 31 saves and T.J. Caig and Jeff Jubinville both scored as the Tulsa Oilers (28-25-4) shut out t he host Quad City Mallards (28-22-7) Wednesday night With the win the Oilers pulled within three points of the second place Mallards in the Central Division standings.
Caig led a 3-on-2 rush to break a scoreless deadlock with a wrist shot from the top of the right wing circle with just 56 seconds left in the first period.
Jubinville stretched the Oiler lead to two at 10:38 of the second period by burying Adam Pleskach's centering pass.
Carr was turned aside 12 Mallard shots in the third period to seal the Tulsa victory.
The Mallards next play at home Friday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Allen Americans. Friday also brings the return of $1 Dog/$1 Beer Night presented by 97X and MetroLINK. Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and beers from iWireless Center concession stands during all Friday home games. 97X will follow in the spirit of the evening by presenting hot dog-themed intermission entertainment.
