CYCLONES BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT
Tonight's Matchup: With back-to-back wins to start this five-game road trip, the Cyclones head to Florida's gulf coast to meet the Everblades for the one and only time this season. Since 2006, these non-division foes have played extremely close - with Cincinnati owning an 11-11-1-0 record in that span.
Scouting the Everblades: Although Greg Poss' club has cooled off a bit lately with losses in two straight games, they are still in the hunt for the East Division lead. Coming into the night they sit just six points behind the Reading Royals with three games in hand. Former Cyclone Adam Brace leads the Everblades in scoring with 47 points (22g, 25a) in 51 games this season. Mitch Wahl has also been a steady offensive threat for Florida, notching 42 tallies (11g, 31a) in 40 contests. Rookie Andy Iles has been the go-to-guy between the pipes, amassing a 12-9-1-1 record with a 3.09 goals-against average. Fellow rookie Daniel Altshuller, meanwhile, has gone 6-3-1 with a 3.53 GAA.
Last Time Out: Another tremendous defensive performance for the Cyclones and a 24-save shutout from Rob Madore helped them defeat the Solar Bears by a 3-0 final score in front of 5,272 at the Amway Center. It was the seventh time this season that Cincinnati has blanked an opponent.
The Beat Rolls On: Matt Macdonald's team has remained one of the top ECHL teams in terms of limiting shots. The Cyclones haven't allowed their opponent to reach the 30-shot mark in 12 of their last 13 games and rank second in the league with an average of 26.45 shots surrendered. Only the South Carolina Stingrays have a lower average.
Milestone Achieved: Cyclones forward Josh Shalla reached an impressive benchmark this week. With his assist on Tuesday, the Nashville Predators prospect reached 100 in his Cyclones career. The Whitby, Ontario native has earned 52 goals and 48 assists in 119 career games in a Cincy jersey. He ranks fifth on the club's all-time game-winning goals list (10)..
