Oilers Open Friday At Oklahoma City

It's now time for the count 'em games.

The Tulsa Oilers will start their 17^th season in the revitalized Central Hockey league Friday night at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City against the Blazers. Dan Hodge has trimmed the Oilers training camp roster to 19 players, who are eager to get the season started.

"The guys are chomping at the bit to get going," Hodge said. "It's been awhile since some of these guys played hockey. We're excited about playing."

Hodge named Jeff Christian the Oilers captain, and Brendon Hodge and Jason Lawmaster alternate captains. He says defenseman Cody Hamilton will start the season on the 30 day injured reserve list as the result of a concussion suffered in the final preseason game on October 11^th at Oklahoma City. The rest of the Oilers are ready to get the season started.

*Goaltenders: *Kevin St. Pierre; Guy St. Vincent

*Defense: *Peter Kennedy; Ben Chaisson; Kevin Hansen; Justin Schmit; Jason Lawmaster; Cody Hamilton; Kelly Sickavish.

*Left wing: *Avery Wilson; Jeff McDowall; Jake Riddle; Chris Kovalcik

*Center: *Brendon Hodge; Dennis Sicard; Bobby Reed

*Right Wing: *Kai Magnussen; Michel Beausoleil; Jeff Christian

The Oilers will play their first home game in the BOK Center presented by U. S. Cellular, on Saturday October 25^th , against the arch rival Oklahoma City Blazers. Season tickets for the Oilers 2008-09 season in the new BOK Center are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-PUCK (7825).
