IceRays finalize regular season roster

Corpus Christi IceRays Head Coach Sylvain Cloutier has made his final cuts of the exhibition season on Wednesday afternoon and the IceRays have solidified their opening night roster. The IceRays waived forwards Bill Bagron and Patrick Steinmayr and goaltender D.J. Delbuono. Corpus Christi also placed forward Jonathan Trottier on the 30-day injured reserve list to trim their roster size to 19 players for opening night. CHL rules state that each team must have no more than 19 active players on the roster during the regular season. Any player who is on 30-day injured reserve is considered inactive. The IceRays currently have ten forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders on their roster. For more information, please call the IceRays office at 361.814.PUCK.
The ten IceRays forwards are Nicolas Bachand, Ryan Bennett, Jeff Grant, John McNabb, Justin Quenneville, Adam Powell, Chris Richards, Chris Shaffer, Mark Tobin and Mike Zbriger. The seven defensemen include Mike Campaner, Jeremy Leroux, Chris Mei, Natahan Oke, Bob Rapoza, T.J. Reynolds and Matt Smyth. The IceRays goaltending tandem is made up of Kris Tebbs and Dustin Traylen. Trottier will begin the season on the 30-day IR to round out the IceRays roster.
The Corpus Christi IceRays begin their 2008-2009 season on Saturday, October 18th when they host the Tulsa Oilers at 7:05pm at the American Bank Center. Individual game tickets are currently on sale for the 2008-2009 season.
