Scorpions Announce Opening Night Roster

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The Scorpions open the season Friday night against Amarillo at the Santa Ana Star Center. Head coach Randy Murphy has made his final cuts and 20 players are currently on the roster.

Defenseman Aaron MacInnis will lead as the team captain. Forwards Craig Macdonald and Chris Robertson have been named assistant captains. Four other players return from last year's team including defensemen Andrew Smale and Dylan Row, forward Mitch Stephens and goaltender Andrew Martin.

This week three players, defenseman Corey Courchene, forwards Torren Delforte and Neil Trimm, arrived in camp and have made the opening night roster. Newly acquired forward Seth Leonard is expected to join the team next week when the Scorpions travel to Arizona. Tyler Fuller suffered a lower body injury this past week and is being placed on the 14-day injured reserve.
