February 15, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Mississippi RiverKings News Release
The Tulsa Oilers scored five times in the second period to crown the Mississippi RiverKings 10-3 tonight at the DeSoto Civic Center.
Jeff Christian, Warren McCutcheon, Brendon Hodge, David Beauregard, and Kai Magnussen all scored for the Oilers (18-25-3) in the second. Christian and Beauregard also scored in the third period, as did Lucas Burnett and Paul Kelly. Kelly also scored in the first period.
Ryan Campbell scored in the first and third periods for the RiverKings (27-17-2). Chad Woollard scored in the second period.
Guy St. Vincent made 38 saves for the Oilers, who defeated the RiverKings for the first time in six tries this year. Ian Keserich gave up four goals on 17 shots in net for the RiverKings. Kris Tebbs replaced him midway through the game and gave up six goals on 14 shots.
In other news tonight, Aaron Davis returned to the RiverKings' lineup after missing 16 games due to injury. He last played in Austin against the Ice Bats on Jan. 4. The injury kept Davis out of the 2008 CHL All-Star Game. He had 14 goals and 14 assists in the first 29 games of the season.
To make room on the roster, the RiverKings waived Jason McCrimmon. McCrimmon dressed for six games, but he earned all 25 of his penalty minutes on Feb. 1 in Laredo against the Bucks by fighting Gabe Yeung three times in the first period.
The RiverKings visit the Texas Brahmas tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. The pre-game show begins at 6:55 p.m. on Sports 56 WHBQ.
