Ryan Bennett To Return To Hounds

February 15, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - Youngstown SteelHounds Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Kaminski announced today that forward Ryan Bennett has been reinstated by the team. In a separate transaction the team has waived defenseman Andrew Scampoli.

Bennett, 26, was placed on team suspension after playing two games in January recording four shots and zero points. The fifth year pro from Glens Falls, New York began his professional career with his hometown Adirondack IceHawks before receiving his first AHL call-up with the Rochester Americans during the 2004-2005 season. Bennett returned to the AHL during the 2005-2006 season with the Portland Pirates.

Throughout his career the 6-0, 195-pound right wing has consistently been a scoring threat. In 226 games played he accumulated 62 goals and 97 assists. Bennett also brings playoff experience to the roster. The newest member of the Hounds has appeared in 12 career playoff games scoring 11 points on three goals and eight assists.

"It's great to have Ryan back in the lineup," said Kaminski. "He had some things off the ice to take care of before he could join this team on a fulltime basis and now that that is done he should be ready to go."

The Hounds host the Oklahoma City Blazers tonight at 7:05 with $1.00 beers for all fans 21 years and older. The Hounds will also be wearing special pink jerseys for cancer awareness. Tickets are on sale for $8.00 by stopping by the Chevrolet Centre box office or by calling (330) 747-PUCK. All SteelHounds games are available on ESPN Radio 1240 and SteelHounds.com.
