
Scorpions Stopped By Brahmas

[ NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Tex.]-The Scorpions saw their six game winning streak snapped with a 4-1 loss to the Brahmas Friday night. New Mexico got on the board first with a two-on-one break. Craig Macdonald fed the puck to Chris Robertson who finished the job and gave the Scorpions a 1-0 lead.
The Brahmas fought back with a rebound goal from Tyler Skworchinski at the 8:17 mark. Late in the period, Texas went to the power play and Anders Strome gave the Brahmas their first lead of game.
Texas came out in the second period and increased their lead. Blair Manning stuffed a rebound goal to the back of the net, giving the Brahmas a 3-1 at the 13:17 mark.
Kevin Korol finished the night's scoring with a third period goal for the Brahmas. The win a season high fifth in a row for Texas.
Saturday the Scorpions face their long time rivals in Amarillo. The puck drops at 6:05 p.m. and will be aired on 610 The Sports Animal and the CHL Network.
New Mexico returns home Sunday afternoon to face the Colorado Eagles. The game starts at 3:15 p.m. with a "Skate with the Scorps" following the game. Free skate rentals will be provided courtesy of Blades Multiplex Arenas.
