Saskatoon, SK - The Edmonton Oil Kings finished their four-game Saskatchewan road trip with a 5-0 loss to the Saskatoon Blades at the Sasktel Centre on Saturday night.

The Blades skated to a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play after getting a couple of late goals from Trevor Wong and Jayden Wiens as both were able to cash-in on partial breakaways into the Edmonton zone.

In the second period, the Blades scored twice in the opening 7:52 with power play goals from Egor Sidorov and Aidan De La Gorgendiere.

In the latter half of the period, the Oil Kings had a handful of chances to get on the board, but Saskatoon goaltender Ethan Chadwick came up with two big saves on each of Cole Miller and Luke Robson to keep Edmonton scoreless through 40 minutes.

In the third period, Vaughn Watterodt would tack on one more goal for the Blades to give them the 5-0 victory.

Ronin Geraghty finished the night making 38 saves for the Oil Kings while Chadwick turned in 21 saves for the shutout. The Oil Kings went 0-for-3 on the power play, the Blades were 2-for-4.

Next up, the Oil Kings return to Rogers Place on Tuesday, November 15 when they play host to the Red Deer Rebels at 7:00 P.M.
