
Pats Host Rebels for Final Home Game Until December 10

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats host the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. inside the Brandt Centre.
The Pats are coming off a 5-4 overtime loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Friday on the road. The Pats had a 2-0 lead after one, but the Broncos scored four unanswered goals in the second frame to take a 4-2 lead into the second intermission. Connor Bedard (2G-1A) would score his 15th and 16th goals of the season to tie it in the third. Owen Pickering scored the overtime winner for the Broncos.
Alexander Suzdalev finished with a career-high four points (1G-3A), while Easton Armstrong scored in his 100th career game and Drew Sim made 37 saves. The final shots were 42-37 for the Broncos. The Pats went 1-4 on the power play and 6-6 on the penalty kill. The Pats are now 8-8-1-1.
On the other side, the Red Deer Rebels are coming a 3-2 shootout loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings at Westoba Place last night, as they have now lost three straight games after beginning the season 15-0. Kai Uchacz scored his 16th of the season and Craig Armstrong scored his second of the year. Kyle Kelsey made 15 saves in the loss. The final shots were 28-17 for the Rebels while going 0-3 on the man-advantage and 3-3 on the penalty kill.
Last season, the Red Deer Rebels bounced back from a five win 2020-21 season with a 45-19-2-2 record, good for 94 points, as they finished third in the Eastern Conference, winning round one over Brandon in six games before being swept by Winnipeg in round two.
The Rebels set new franchise records for best start to a season and longest win streak by winning 15 consecutive games to begin the 2022-23 WHL Regular Season. The 2000-01 Rebels team won their first seven games enroute to winning the Memorial Cup. The following year in 2001-02, the Rebels won 14 consecutive games in Jan-Feb.
