NEWS & NOTES:
Last Time Out: The Cougars rallied all night long but fell short to the Kelowna Rockets in an 8-6 barn burner at Prospera Place. Chase Wheatcroft and Koehn Ziemmer continued their scoring streaks, finding the back of the net twice, while also getting singles from Noah Boyko and Cole Dubinsky.
Who's Hot: Chase Wheatcroft has been a goal scoring machine in the last four games. The 20-year-old from Calgary, AB has found the back of the net seven times in the last four contests. Wheatcroft recently earned his 100th career WHL point on Wednesday against the Rockets. Koehn Ziemmer and Hudson Thornton enter tonight's game against the Giants with points in eight straight games. Ziemmer currently leads the WHL in goals with 15. Riley Heidt is coming off a massive performance on Wednesday also, collecting four assists. Heidt enters tonight with eight points in his last three games (1G 7A)
On The Other Side: The Giants under Michael Dyck this season are 6-7-2-2. Forward Samuel Honzek leads the way with 21 points in 17 games. Goaltender and Vegas Golden Knights 2021 5th round pick Jesper Vikman has gotten the bulk of the starts for Vancouver. The 20 year old netminder from Sweden sports a 5-5-0-1 record in 11 games played with a 3.33 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
