Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (61-67) managed only four singles and the Mississippi Braves (54-74) clinched a series win by beating the Biscuits 4-1 Tuesday night at Riverwalk.

Mississippi starter Luis Avilan (4-8) struck out eight over five one-hit shutout innings to get the win. Andrew Wilson followed with three scoreless innings before the Biscuits plated one in the ninth against Benino Pruneda.

Shane Dyer (6-10) had given up only one run on four hits through five before the Braves rallied for insurance in the sixth. Donell Linares keyed a three-run frame with an RBI-double to make it 4-0. Dyer lasted six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks while fanning three.

Cole Figueroa scored the lone run of the night for the Biscuits, and had three of the team's four total hits.

Alex Colome will face off against RHP Aaron Shafer Wednesday at 7:05.
