Zebulon, NC --- Kyle Skipworth homered and doubled, while relief pitcher Kyle Kaminska threw four shutout innings to earn the victory as the Jacksonville Suns beat the Carolina Mudcats 8-4 at Five County Stadium on Monday night.

Skipworth, who entered the game hitting .198, homered off of Josh Ravin in the fourth after doubling in the second to even the series with Carolina 1-1 with three games remaining.

Carolina (25-31) took a 3-1 lead after two innings against Jeff Allison thanks to a Cody Puckett single in the first inning, and Didi Gregorius' two-run homer in the second. However, the Suns batted around against Ravin in the fifth, scoring four times to take a 6-4 lead.

Ravin (L, 0-1) was knocked out after four innings after allowing six hits and six runs, along with four walks.

Gregorius paced Carolina's 13-hit attack, adding a pair of singles to his second Double-A homer. Eric Campbell doubled twice as part of a three-hit game.

The loss reduced Carolina's elimination number in the second half to five. The Mudcats trail first-place Chattanooga by nine games with 13 to play.

Justin Lehr (0-1, 4.94) starts on Tuesday night against Brad Hand (10-3, 3.43) at 7:15 PM ET.
