Nine Unearned Runs Cost Sacramento

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Shortstop Michael Affronti's throwing error with two outs in the fifth inning led to eight unearned runs as Sacramento fell 9-2 to the Memphis Redbirds before 11,053 fans at Raley Field on Friday night. Memphis' other run was also unearned as catcher Josh Donaldson allowed a run to score from third base on a passed ball in the sixth inning. With nine unearned runs Friday, Sacramento has now allowed 62 unearned runs this season (27.8 percent of their 222 total runs allowed). Designated hitter Anthony Recker hit his second home run of the season for Sacramento. Sacramento lead-off man Corey Wimberly walked twice to extend his consecutive games reaching base to 18.
