ROUND ROCK, Texas - Cole Gillespie's two-out, two-run single in the top of the 12th snapped a 3-3 tie, and the Reno Aces held off a Round Rock Express rally in the bottom of the inning for a 5-4 victory Saturday night at The Dell Diamond. The Express (18-24) suffered their 12th one-run loss of the season and their ninth loss in the opponent's final at bat. The Aces (21-22) won back-to-back games for the first time since in eight games and took a two-games-to-one lead in the series with Round Rock.

Gillespie was 0-for-4 on the night before delivering the game-winning hit - a flare to center that fell in front of Express charging center fielder Brian Bogusevic. Reno closer Daniel Stange recorded two quick outs bottom of the 12th before Bogusevic doubled to right; Michael Garciaparra followed with a pinch-hit RBI single. However, Stange induced a come-back grounder from Carlos Cabral to quell the Express rally and notch his second save in as many nights.

T.J. Beam (1-2), the second of three relievers for the Aces, picked up the win after tossing 2.0 scoreless innings on one hit with a strikeout. Starter Bryan Augenstein allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits and no walks with six strikeouts over 7.0 innings. Jason Urquidez spelled Augenstein in the eighth and worked 2.0 scoreless frames on two hits with three strikeouts.

Roy Corcoran (1-7) took the loss in relief for the Express, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks with two strikeouts over 2.0 innings. Starter Sergio Perez, making his first career Triple-A start after being called up from Double-A Corpus Christi earlier this week, worked 7.0 innings and allowed two runs on four hits and five walks with five strikeouts.

Round Rock plated three runs on three hits and a Reno error in the bottom of the second to snap a scoreless tie. Collin DeLome delivered a one-out RBI double, and Jason Castro later scored on an errant throw home by Reno shortstop Pedro Ciriaco. DeLome scored the third run of the inning on a wild pitch.

Ciriaco made up for his error in the top of the third. Doug Deeds drew a four-pitch walk to open the inning, and Ciriaco followed with a home run to left on an 0-2 Perez offering. It was Ciriaco's team-leading fourth homer of the season.

The Express clung to the one-run lead until the eighth when the Aces got a run on one hit. Ciriaco again was involved, leading off the inning with a single and later scoring on Jeff Bailey's sacrifice fly. Round Rock had a chance to answer in the bottom of the inning as Matt Kata and Castro had consecutive one-out singles. However, DeLome struck out and Yordany Ramirez fouled out to end the inning.

Kata finished the night 3-for-5, extending his hitting streak to 10 games with his ninth multiple-hit game during the streak. Castro was 2-for-5, producing the only other multiple-hit game for the Express. Round Rock tallied 10 hits on the night, its ninth consecutive game with at least 10 base knocks.

Ciriaco and Bailey had each had three hits.

Round Rock and Reno conclude their four-game series Sunday with a 2:05 p.m. first pitch at The Dell Diamond. Left-hander Andy Van Hekken (2-3, 4.40 ERA) gets the start for the Express, while right-hander Kevin Mulvey (0-2, 4.09 ERA) is slated to start for the Aces.
