Reno Aces News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Cole Gillespie's bloop single in the top of the 12th inning chased home two runs and lifted the Reno Aces to a 5-4 victory over the Round Rock Express Saturday night at Dell Diamond.

With the game knotted at 3-3, Gillespie came to the plate with two on and two out in the 12th. With the count full, Gillespie hit a flare to shallow centerfield that dropped in, allowing Sean Coughlin and Pedro Ciriaco to score. In the home half of the frame, Daniel Stange allowed a run, but no more, slamming the door on his second-straight save.

Before Gillespie's heroics in the 12th, the Aces needed a Jeff Bailey sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to erase a late one-run deficit. The two clubs would go silent from that point on until the decisive 12th inning.

Aces starter Bryan Augenstein worked seven effective innings, surrendering three runs-two earned-on five hits. Augenstein struck out six and didn't issue a walk. Jason Urquidez worked two scoreless frames, and TJ Beam (1-2) collected the win after holding Round Rock silent in the 10th and 11th innings.

Round Rock starter Sergio Perez matched Augenstein's quality start with seven innings of two-run baseball. Perez walked five and struck out five. The loss fell to Roy Corcoran (1-7), who surrendered Gillespie's go-ahead single in the 12th.

Ciriaco led the way for Reno offensively, hitting his fourth home run of the season in the third inning. The Aces shortstop finished 3-for-6 with three runs scored and two driven in.

The series comes to a close on Sunday afternoon. RHP Kevin Mulvey (0-3, 4.38 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while Round Rock will counter with LHP Andy Van Hekken (2-3, 4.40 ERA). First pitch from Dell Diamond in Round Rock is set for 12:05 p.m. PT, and all the action can be heard live in Reno on Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM or by visiting www.RenoAces.com.

The Aces return home Friday, May 28, for a 7:05 p.m. contest against Sacramento. That game kicks-off a jam-packed four-game homestand at Aces Ballpark.

Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting RenoAces.com. The brand-new Freight House District, located just outside Aces Ballpark, is open seven days a week, on both game days and non-game days.
