
Niko Goodrum activated from DL

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that INF Niko Goodrum has been activated from the 7-day disabled list and that INF Ryan Walker has been assigned to the GCL Twins. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
Goodrum went on the DL back on August 22 with a right groin strain. He has played in 100 games for the Kernels this season, batting .256 with 3 HR, 42 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 24 attempts. The Twins selected him in the second round of the 2010 First Year Player Draft and he spent last season at Elizabethton.
Walker played in six games for the Kernels, batting .250 (5-20) with a double and two RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 18th round of the 2013 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Texas-Arlington and played 42 games at Elizabethton before joining the Kernels on August 23rd.
Goodrum is active and available for tonight's 6:35 pm game vs. Kane County. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25, with one player currently on the disabled list.
The Kernels host Kane County tonight at 6:35 pm in the final regular season home game of the 2013 season. They wrap up the 2013 MWL season with three games at Clinton, before beginning the first round of the 2013 MWL Playoffs against Quad Cities in a best-of-three series.
