
New England Revolution Make Two Selections in 2022 MLS SuperDraft

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution selected two players in Tuesday's 2022 MLS SuperDraft presented by Adidas. The Revolution selected Loyola Marymount goalkeeper Jacob Jackson (24th overall) in Round One, followed by UCLA defender Ben Reveno (52nd overall) in Round Two. New England passed with its 80th-overall selection in Round Three.
On Wednesday, January 12, at 12:00 p.m. ET. Revolution Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena will be available to media via video press conference to discuss the club's SuperDraft selections and preview the 2022 preseason. He will be joined by Revolution defender Henry Kessler and first-round 2022 MLS SuperDraft selection Jacob Jackson. CLICK HERE to join Wednesday's virtual press conference.
Jackson, 21, spent three the last three seasons as a starter for Loyola Marymount, posting a 26-8-8 career record for the Lions. The Escondido, Calif. native was named the West Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and an All-WCC First Team selection in each of the last two seasons. As a redshirt junior in 2021, Jackson set a career high with 11 wins, allowing only 12 goals in 17 games while posting eight shutouts. During the 2021 spring season, Jackson went unbeaten (6-0-3) allowing only two goals across 870 minutes to become just the second goalkeeper in WCC history to post a goals against average of under 0.25 in a season. Jackson also holds the Loyola Marymount record for most consecutive scoreless minutes (560) in a season.
Reveno, 23, played five seasons of collegiate soccer, spending the past three years at UCLA following a two-year stint at UC Irvine. Reveno made 49 appearances for the Bruins, including 47 starts, scoring one goal and adding six assists. As a redshirt senior in 2021, he logged a career high 1,570 minutes at both center back and outside back. A native of San Jose, Calif., Reveno helped UCLA earn an NCAA Tournament bid this past fall and earned a selection to the United Soccer Coaches Far West All-Region Second Team.
