
Rapids Add Three Talents to Roster Following 2022 MLS SuperDraft

Tuesday's 2022 MLS SuperDraft left no shortage of excitement for Rapids fans as Colorado earned $125,000 in GAM and added three new Burgundy Boys to this season's roster. Relive all of the decisions made in the Rapids' war room here.
Colorado teased its busy draft schedule on social media hours before the 2022 MLS SuperDraft went live on Tuesday, letting Rapids fans know about the five available picks the Rapids held, spanning from No. 10 to No. 79.
2:15 PM - Rapids Trade No. 10 Pick in Exchange for $125,000 in GAM:
To kick off Colorado's 2022 MLS SuperDraft experience, the Rapids traded their No. 10 pick for $100,000 in General Allocation Money with Nashville SC. The trade also includes $50,000 in conditional GAM and the 26th pick in the SuperDraft for Colorado, three picks after the Rapids' existing 23rd pick in the first round.
3:25 PM - Rapids Select Midfielder Mohamed Omar With 23rd Pick
With the No. 23 pick, Colorado selected midfielder Mohamed Omar to join the Rapids squad. Omar recorded 68 appearances with Notre Dame over his four seasons played with the Fighting Irish.

Hometown: Toronto, Ontario
Honors: Selected to train with U-20 Canadian National Team in 2018, led Fighting Irish as a co-caption in his senior year
3:35 - Rapids Select Defender Anthony Markanich With 26th Pick
Shortly after selecting Mohamed Omar, the Rapids selected Anthony Markanich out of Northern Illinois University with the No. 26 pick acquired from Colorado's earlier SuperDraft trade with Nashville SC. The left-footed defender started all 67 of the games he played with the Huskies and recorded 17 goals and 24 assists in those appearances.

4:20 PM - Rapids Select Roberto Molina With 45th Overall Pick
With the 45th overall pick, the Colorado Rapids selected Las Vegas Lights winger Roberto Molina on Tuesday afternoon. The El Salvador native has recorded three international friendly caps with his home country's squad and 30 appearances with the USL's Lights in 2021.

4:35 PM - Rapids Pass on Remaining Selections
Colorado passed on making a selection for the 51st overall pick, effectively passing on its 79th and final pick of the night, as well.
