Atlanta United Selects Erik Centeno, Tristan Trager, Daniel Bloyou and Tola Showunmi in 2022 MLS SuperDraft

ATLANTA - Atlanta United selected winger Erik Centeno, midfielder Tristan Trager, forward Daniel Bloyou and forward Tola Showunmi in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas on Tuesday.

Centeno, 19, is a Generation adidas selection and was the only freshman to start all 16 games for the University of the Pacific in 2021, recording six goals and five assists. Following the season, the winger garnered First-Team All-West Coast Conference and conference Freshman of the Year honors after leading the team in points and tying for the team lead in goals. A native of Stockton, Calif., Centeno starred at Weston Ranch High School and played for the Sacramento Republic FC Academy.

Trager, 22, appeared in 12 matches his freshman season at Air Force Academy before having a breakout season in his sophomore year. In 2019, the midfielder was named First Team All-WAC after leading the Falcons with 13 goals and 30 points. In his final season with Air Force, Trager earned WAC Offensive Player of the Year honors after scoring 11 goals in 11 WAC matches and adding six assists during the regular season.

Bloyou, 21, began his college career at Old Dominion University where he appeared in 32 total games in two seasons before transferring to Penn State University. In his first season with the Nittany Lions, Bloyou garnered third team All-America status and was named First Team All-Big Ten. He led the team with eight goals in 13 matches played. He added two assists for a total of 18 points. Bloyou scored four goals and had seven assists in his final season with the Nittany Lions.

Showunmi, 21, played at Merrimack College for two seasons before transferring to the University of New Hampshire. The forward scored 13 goals in 35 games for Merrimack. In his final collegiate season, Showunmi ranked 24th in the nation with 10 goals scored. He finished the campaign ranked in the top-20 nationally with four game-winning goals. He finished his college career with a combined 24 goals in 61 games played.
