From the Notes

Seth Maness: 30-year-old Seth Maness starts for the Sounds tonight. The right-hander is 7-4 with a 5.69 ERA in 19 starts with Nashville. Maness has tossed 106.0 innings and has allowed 147 hits and 15 walks to go along with 63 strikeouts. He last pitched on August 17 versus Omaha and limited the Storm Chasers to 2 runs on 10 hits in 6.0 innings. He earned no decision in Nashville's 4-3 win. Maness was named to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team and allowed one unearned run in the game on July 10. Maness joined the Sounds on May 2 after the Rangers purchased his contract from the Independent League High Point Rockers. The veteran has pitched in the big leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals (2013-16) and the Kansas City Royals (2017). In 252 Major League games, the North Carolina native is 18-10 with a 3.21 ERA. Maness is 27-14 with a 3.95 ERA in 99 games (58 starts) in his minor league career. The St. Louis Cardinals drafted him in the 11th round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of East Carolina University.

Corcino vs. Nashville: Oklahoma City starter Daniel Corcino has faced Nashville in 3 appearances (1 start) this season. He is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA (12.0 IP/6 ER) and has allowed a .264 average (12-for-46). He last faced the Sounds in relief on July 25 at First Tennessee Park. He went 5.1 innings of relief, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 4 batters. The Sounds won 7-5. This season, Corcino has performed as such against active Sounds hitters: Matt Davidson, 1-3, 2B; Zack Granite, 2-5, 2B, 2 BB; Andy Ibáñez, 2-3, 2 2B, RBI; Christian Lopes, 3-4, 2B, 3 RBI; Eli White, 0-6, BB, 2 K; Patrick Wisdom, 2-5, RBI, BB, 2 K.

Guzmán Stays Hot: First baseman Ronald Guzmán had a monster game in last night's win, going 4-for-4 with 3 runs, a double, a home run, an RBI and a walk. He has been on fire since August 7, hitting .415 (22-for-53) with 12 runs, 6 doubles, 4 home runs, 10 RBI and 7 walks (.483 OBP) in 13 games. 6 of those games were multi-hit efforts. His on-base percentage ranks 5th in the PCL and his average ranks 9th in that span. Last night's 4 hits set his season-high and the 3 runs matched his career-high.

Rubber Bandy Man: Catcher Jett Bandy has homered in back-to-back nights and in three of his last four games. The last time he homered in consecutive games was in 2017 from April 17 - 20, where Bandy homered in three straight games for Milwaukee. He now has 12 home runs this season, one shy of his single season-high of 13 set in 2014 with Double-A Arkansas.

Season Series Clincher: With Nashville earning their ninth win of the season against Oklahoma City last night, they clinched the season series. The Sounds were able to beat one other team in the American Conference in a season series, beating Memphis 9-7. They still have a chance to split with Iowa and Omaha, where Nashville has 8 losses each against them. The Sounds also won season series against Las Vegas, Sacramento and Tacoma.
