
Nailers release roster for alumni game

WHEELING, WV â The Wheeling Nailers announce today the roster of the Wheeling Thunderbirds/Nailers Alumni for when they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins Alumni on Sunday October 24th at WesBanco Arena.
Former players wearing the Wheeling uniform will be:

Tim Roberts Joe Harney
Stefan Brannare Cory Paterson
Grant Vanlar Rival Fullum
Gairin Smith Mike Latendresse
Darren Schwartz Jeremy Brown
John Johnson Tony Prpic
The evening features players like Brock Woods, current Nailers radio commentator and former captain of the Wheeling Thunderbirds, Tim Roberts, former All-Star and credited with scoring the first ever goal for the Wheeling franchise, Stefan Brannare, former Nailers captain and player as recent as the 03-04 team. A highlighted player would be Darren Schwartz, former captain of the Thunderbirds and ranked 6th all-time leader in penalty minutes for the ECHL. Joe Harney, a player with the 97-98 team under the direction of Peter Laviolette, also has the distinction of being an assistant coach for the Wheeling franchise and head coach during the 2000-2001 season. Also playing will be Mike Latendresse, former Nailers captain and all-star on the 97-98 team, and Jeremy Brown - leading scorer on the 97-98 Nailers team and member of the Calder Cup championship team with the Providence Bruins under Peter Laviolette.
The weekend kicks off with an opportunity to meet and greet the former Wheeling players at Generations on National Road in Wheeling at 7:30pm on Saturday night, October 23rd.
Tickets for the game are only $5 and game time is 5:05 on Sunday October 24th at WesBanco Arena. Tickets can be purchased through the Nailers office, at the WesBanco Arena Box Office, and through Ticketmaster.com.
The Nailers 2004-2005 season starts on October 22nd in Toledo and the home opener will be on October 30th against the Storm, check www.wheelingnailers.com for other game dates.
