Opening day roster set for Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced the roster for opening day, in compliance with ECHL deadlines. The 18-man roster (including 9 forwards, 7 defense, and 2 goalies) will open the 2004-05 season this Friday at the BI-LO Center against the Charlotte Checkers.
The 2004-05 edition of the Grrrowl features seven (7) NHL/AHL contract players, four (4) more who competed for spots in AHL camps, seven (7) rookies and only one returning player from the 2003-04 Grrrowl squad. A full roster with additional information is available at www.grrrowl.com.
"We have definitely upgraded our roster, which was our first priority in the off-season," state John Marks, Grrrowl VP of Hockey Operations and Head Coach. "Our new relationship with Edmonton and Chicago has been great, and the quality of contract players is a solid addition to the organization. We have a good mix of rookies and guys with professional experience, and I know that they will be fun to watch. I am excited about the potential of our team, and hope that the expectations will be realized for our fans and the entire organization."
