WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, have announced a transaction, taking effect immediately. Wheeling received forward Anton Zlobin from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Zlobin, 20, made his professional hockey debut on Sunday, when he suited up with the AHL Penguins in their game against the Springfield Falcons. Anton joins the pro ranks after spending three seasons in the QMJHL - two with the Shawinigan Cataractes and one with the Val-d'Or Foreurs. During that time, he appeared in 186 games, amassing 92 goals, 120 assists, and 212 points. The Moscow, Russia native's greatest accomplishment in junior hockey came at the 2012 Mastercard Memorial Cup, when he netted two goals, including the overtime winner, as Shawinigan defeated London 2-1 for its lone championship in the team's now 45-year history. The forward entered Pittsburgh's organization as a sixth round draft pick (173rd overall) by the Penguins at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Anton Zlobin will be in the lineup for the Nailers on Friday night, wearing #10, as they visit the Elmira Jackals at 7:05. Wheeling will return home on Saturday, for another tilt with the Jackals, starting at 7:00.
