SF Bulls Begin Three-In-Three with Contest against Idaho

November 15, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
San Francisco Bulls News Release

Tonight's Matchup: Tonight at the Cow Palace the San Francisco Bulls (4-5-1-0) will look to make it three straight victories when they begin a two-game set against the Idaho Steelheads (4-4-1-0). This is the second of five meetings between these teams this season. The Steelheads won their first matchup, 3-2 in overtime.

On Monday evening, San Francisco traveled to Stockton and beat the Thunder 3-2. The game went back and forth, with Mark Lee ultimately scoring the game-winner with less than three minutes left to play in the game. Chris Crane and Dean Ouellet each scored their second goals of the season. Tyler Beskorowany had 28 saves and earned his fourth victory.

San Francisco will look to carry their momentum into this weekend's three-game home stand. Their offensive production hasn't been where it needs to be, but the game on Monday was their best effort of the season so far. They scored multiple power play goals in a game for the first time this year, and did it against the league's best penalty killing unit. In addition, they tied their season-high with 36 shots on goal, matching the last time they took on tonight's opponent.

Unfortunately the Bulls will have to continue their win streak without Dale Mitchell and Ryan McDonough, who have both been placed on the 21-day IR. In their absence players like Lee and Ouellet will be looking to make up for the lost production. Lee is the team leader in assists (5) and points (8), and Ouellet has now scored in each of the last two games.

In addition, on Wednesday, San Francisco announced that they had acquired forward Kyle Bodie from the Cincinnati Cyclones for future considerations. Bodie, in his first year of professional hockey, has registered one goal and one assist in seven games so far this season.

Anthony Nigro leads the Steelheads into tonight's contest. He has a team-high seven goals and 13 points. In addition, he put together a three-point night when these two teams played earlier this season. Tommy Grant, the former Bull, is also having a fine season. Through 10 games he has nine points (4g, 5a).

San Francisco is in sixth place in the Western Conference with nine points. They are just one point behind Idaho, who sits in fifth place with 10 points.

Tonight everyone in attendance will receive a 2013-14 Bulls Schedule Poster.

Tomorrow the Bulls are back in action when they will wrap up this two-game set against the Steelheads. The game starts at 7:30pm.
