Nailers Poised For Big Weekend
January 25, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release
Wheeling, WV- The Wheeling Nailers are set for a big weekend both on and off the ice. With just five points separating the Nailers from the fifth and final playoff spot in the North Division, they are set to host three consecutive home games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In order to kick off the second half of the season and the playoff push, there will also be three great promotions.
On Friday, the Nailers play host to the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. The first 2500 fans will receive the second of three collector's pucks. This Friday's puck continues the 15 year anniversary celebration as it features the original Thunderbirds logo and images of former Thunderbirds and current Wheeling residents, Brock Woods and Tim Roberts. Friday is also "Turn Back the Clock Night." Fans will receive two dollars off the gate price if they're wearing any Thunderbirds apparel.
Following Friday's game, don't miss your chance to be part of this year's Nailers team poster. The Nailers team photo will be taken as soon as the final whistle blows and all fans are encouraged to take their spot behind the team and be part of Nailers history.
Saturday will be a night for hockey and baseball fans alike as the Pittsburgh Pirates sail into town to watch the Nailers take on the Trenton Titans at 8 p.m. Matt Capps, Salomon Torres, Zach Duke and Jose Bautista will all be in attendance and signing autographs from 7-8:30 p.m. General Manager Dave Littlefield, broadcaster Greg Brown, the Cannonball Crew and the Pirate Parrot will also be joining in the festivities. As part of the big night, the Nailers will be wearing commemorative Pirates hockey jerseys that will be auctioned off directly after the game.
On Sunday, the Nailers take on the Augusta Lynx from the South Division at 6 p.m. All fans who participate in the team photo on Friday will get a chance to see themselves as the first 2000 fans receive a Nailers team poster. And tickets are just $8 with a ticket stub from Friday or Saturday's games.
Tickets are available now by calling 304-234-GOAL, by visiting the Nailers team store located at 1315 Main St. in downtown Wheeling or online at www.WheelingNailers.com.
