
Storm Release James, Brodeur Recalled by Norfolk

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that goaltender Mike Brodeur has been recalled by the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League. In separate moves, Toledo has released forward Mike James and signed forward TJ Sakaluk (SACK-a-Luck) and goaltender Dennis Canfield.
Sakaluk appeared in 12 games this season with the Port Huron Flags of the United Hockey League. In those contests, TJ collected two goals while adding three assists. Canfield is making his second run in a Toledo Storm uniform, as he was the back up for Dominic Vicari for the games from January 5-7. He did play in a couple of games with Fayetteville FireAntz earlier this year.
Brodeur, the 23-year old Calgary, Alberta native stopped 81 of 84 shots he faced in last weekend's three-game home series, posting a 1.00 goals-against average and a 0.964 save percentage in route to being named RBK ECHL Goaltender of the Week. In 5 games with the Storm, Brodeur has a compiled a 3-2-0 record, a 2.00 GAA, and a pair of shutouts.
James appeared in 20 games this season with Toledo, scoring 4 goals while adding a pair of assists. Mike played in 69 games with the Storm last season netting 14 goals with 29 assists.
The Storm will play 7 of their next 8 games away from Toledo Sports Arena, beginning next Friday night against the Dayton Bombers at 7:00pm from the Nutter Center. Toledo will return to the home ice on January 31st when they will host the Trenton Titans at 7:30pm from Toledo Sports Arena!
