Nailers Offer One Lucky Fan Chance to be Coach for a Day
April 1, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, are offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for one lucky fan. Fans can register through the Wheeling Nailers website for the chance to be a "Coach for a Day," joining David Gove and Jeff Christian behind the bench for the regular season home finale on April 8th.
Since taking over as the team's head coach in late December, David Gove has experienced tremendous success with the Nailers, having gone 20-15-5 in his first 40 games, including a 19-7-4 mark since the "interim" tag was removed from his title in mid-January. Jeff Christian joined the organization one week after the change in title, and the team has posted an 18-6-4 record since his arrival. However, there is still room for one more body behind the bench, which is where the opportunity arises for the regular season home finale.
In 24 years of hockey in Wheeling, a chance like this has never presented itself, and the Nailers organization is thrilled to give one fan the chance to experience something truly unique and innovative.
All registrations must be done online at WheelingNailers.com. A winner will be chosen on Monday.
